Dear Colleagues,

I’m very happy to inform you that our call for papers has been answered by more than 300 submissions from all over the world. Abstracts have been received from 33 countries. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to thank everyone for your overwhelming support.

The technical committee had worked hard to review the abstracts within a tight deadline. Members were generally impressed by the good blend of analysis, experimental work, and overview papers submitted. By now, you should have received the notification on the paper preparation. However, should you not receive any notification message due to some unforeseen circumstances, please send an email to the Conference Manager at ICAE2010@nus.edu.sg for confirmation.

The International Conference on Applied Energy (ICAE) looks set to become a truly integrated forum on research, development and application of energy technology and policy. ICAE2010 aims to facilitate debate on a wide range of topics under the theme, “Energy Solutions for a Sustainable World”. Besides the usual technical presentations and posters, the Conference will feature a number of keynote lectures and special focused sessions incorporating panel discussions and Q and A sessions. We invite specialists from all over the world to come and share experiences and contribute towards building the framework for sustainable development in the 21st century.

As authors proceed to develop the full papers for the conference, I wish to inform all that a selection of the papers presented at ICAE2010 will be reviewed for publication in a special issue of Applied Energy and a number of other international peer-reviewed journals. In addition, best paper awards will be presented at the Conference.

At this point, I wish to encourage you to make early preparations to attend ICAE2010. Please register early and make your hotel room booking in advance.

I look forward to welcoming you to ICAE2010.
